The Delta Hospital Auxiliary in front of their Christmas Shop brought together Delta Assist and Van Houtte's Coffee Queens for customers to have a chance to donate to the Food Bank and enjoy a free cup of coffee before or after doing their Christmas decoration shopping inside!

MAY 10, 2012   A GRAND CELEBRATION TO HONOUR AUXILIARIES THROUGHOUT BRITISH COLUMBIA took place in the lobby of the Delta Hospital .

APRIL 21 - 23 BCAHA CONFERENCE PHOTO CONTEST

In early February, Nean Lund was asked to submit 8" x 10" photos of Delta Hospital Auxiliary volunteers for the Provincial Convention in Prince George in late April.

The following three photos were selected as first and second place photos in different categories (Congratulations to us and to Nean!):

 

 

 APRIL 4, 2012  DELTA HOSPITAL AUXILIARY AGM

 Our annual general meeting took place at the Delta Town and Country Inn. Marilyn Jones was officially sworn in as our Vice-President and Dave MacMillan was introduced as our new Cafe Coordinator. A call went out to all volunteers to fill the Treasurer vacancy.

February 2012   Lifetime Honourees' Wall completed!

It takes 25 - 42 years of volunteer service to have your photo appear on this wall. Delta Hospital Auxiliary Society is extremely proud to have 38 members who have achieved this distinction.  (34 of 38 photos by Nean Lund)

Here are some comments I heard while the photos were being hung:

"These photos are like looking at the history of Delta."

"This recognition is long past due."

"I am so glad this is happening. We need to say "thank you"."

"Oh, look! There is Auntie Betty!"

and one more said jokingly... "Can I draw a mustache on one?"

  

Our community is so much richer because of these volunteers...

...so much richer because of all the Auxiliary volunteers!

LOWER MAINLAND AREA CONFERENCE

What a wonderful day this was!  We had four great speakers: Commander Barbara Clerihue Carter, our keynote speaker; Clay Adams,a representative from Vancouver Coastal Region; Kate Donaldson and  Jo Anne Tait speaking on recreational/musical therapy in the Extended Care facility, Mountain View Manor.
