DELTA HOSPITAL AUXILIARY President’s Report: November, 2012

November has been primarily a month to get ready for Christmas events. The Opening of the Christmas Thrift store was very successful and there are still a couple of Community events planned.
The new furniture has been set up in Mountain View Manor family lounge. We are now waiting until the tables are purchased and the area made ready for the “Light the Way” family event December 5th.
The Auxiliary has received a number of Donations in memory of family members this year. We have placed plaques on the new televisions in waiting and staff education rooms purchased in recognition of those members.
Elaine Canning and I attended a reception at Safeway’s Vancouver headquarters to honour their employee, Debbie Nielsen for her volunteer work at the Delta Hospital Auxiliary Thrift store with a donation. I would also like to acknowledge TELUS Corporation, the Toronto Dominion Bank and Royal Bank for their support over the years in recognition of former employees; Jerry Morgan, Marilyn Jones, Jill Schwaertzel and Dorothy Dawson.
The November 11th Remembrance Ceremony at the Ladner Cenotaph was very moving. Thank you to Elsie Turecki and Joan Matkin for again representing our Hospital Auxiliary.
I look forward to seeing many of you over the next month with Season’s Greetings.
